Project Description
The Department of Labor (DOL) National Office of Job Corps (NOJC) contracted with DIR to provide data integrity; program and policy research and evaluation; and statistical support for five years. Job Corps is the nation’s largest residential training program with between 45,000 and 60,000 students participating in academic and career training each year. The program focuses on 16- to 24-year-old students who are economically disadvantaged and often enter Job Corps without having completed high school. Job Corps provides the support required to transform the lives of its students so that they can enter and grow in competitive career tracks.
For the NOJC and its regional and center operators, DIR
- Performs data integrity audits of student records
- Provides technical assistance, risk and performance dashboards, and trend analyses
- Develops and delivers material for the annual Outcome Management System (OMS) Workgroup
- Designs and implements student safety and satisfaction surveys
- Leads technical discussions on the OMS, including the Job Corps grading system and Minimum Productivity Rule as reported on the Career Technical Training Report Card
Additionally, DIR has extensively aided the transition of the performance management system from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
