Decision Information Resources, Inc. (DIR), under contract to MDRC, is implementing a two-year mixed-mode survey methodology as part of an impact evaluation of the Men of Color College Achievement (MoCCA) study. The program combines a contextualized student success (ACDV) and mentorship program (MSSI) designed to boost the success of male students of color in higher education. The MoCCA study uses a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) design. The MoCCA study aims to understand whether the program meaningfully improves outcomes for men of color relative to the results that would be obtained without the program. Also, the evaluation seeks to examine program fidelity, impacts, and costs.
DIR programmed and carried out a Web-CATI survey as part of a pilot. Currently, DIR and MDRC are working to refine the survey, methodology, and procedures in preparation for the cohort 2 data collection scheduled for January 2020. Data collection for subsequent cohorts will follow the spring 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021 college semesters.
