Kellogg Foundation selects DIR to lead the national evaluation of the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation framework

Houston, Texas – We are honored to announce that the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) has awarded DIR a three-year contract to conduct a national evaluation of the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation (TRHT) framework. Launched in 2016, the TRHT is a community-based effort focused on engaging communities, organizations, and individuals from multiple sectors across the United States to address the “historic and contemporary effects of racism.” WKKF selected 14 communities that will work to address present-day inequities linked to historic and contemporary beliefs in a hierarchy of human value.

The evaluation team, led by Dr. Sylvia Epps (DIR’s executive vice president), includes several DIR senior staff and three expert consultants—Drs. Rodney Hopson, Madeline Taylor, and Norma Neely. The national evaluation will include a formative evaluation of the TRHT work done across the communities. Dr. Epps said, “We are excited to be a part of WKKF’s focus on racism and the effort to bring about transformational and sustainable change in communities that are reeling from historical and recent racial issues. We believe that this work is critical to healing across the nation.”
