DIR has partnered with Mathematica Policy Research for the Positive Adolescent Futures (PAF) Study

The national PAF study will evaluate three innovative programs for expectant and parenting teens. DIR will lead the data collection effort for Steps to Success in Houston, Texas. Steps to Success is a structured home-visiting model that aims to encourage young mothers to stay in schools, promote positive relations with the baby’s father, and delay repeated pregnancies. The evaluation of Steps to Success will answer the following questions: Is steps to success successful at delaying a subsequent pregnancy, improving contraception use, and supporting school completion? Is the program more effective for some young mothers than others? What key successes and challenges do local agencies face in implementing the program?
DIR will work with the Houston Department of Health and Human Services (HDHHS) to identify program participants and will facilitate face-to-face survey completion at three points in time: baseline, 12 months later, and 24 months later.
