Project Description
The evaluation of the Subsidized Transitional Employment Demonstration (STED) is a 60-month random assignment (RA) national study of 7 STED programs. The study seeks to determine the effect of different approaches to helping low-income participants obtain jobs and advance in their fields. The evaluation targets two distinct populations: noncustodial parents (NCPs) and recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
DIR interviewed respondents at three points in time post random assignment – at 6 months, 12 months and 30 months. We used a mixture of telephone and in-person outreach and interviewing strategies to maximize the response rate in each cohort.
We completed more than 16,000 surveys by using a mixed mode of Computer-Aided Telephone Interviews (CATI) and field-initiated contacts.
