Project Description
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) contracted with Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. and several subcontractors, including DIR, to conduct a study of the effects of services provided through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Employment and Training (E&T) pilot sites in 10 states.
The evaluation will estimate the impact of services on participants’ employment, earnings, public assistance receipt, food security, health, self-efficacy, and housing. The evaluation also includes an implementation analysis that will document the context and operations of each pilot site, and a participation analysis that will examine the services that pilot participants received.
DIR is conducting 30-minute Computer-Aided Telephone Interview (CATI) follow-up surveys with enrollees contacted 12 months after random assignment in the first wave of follow-up surveys. All surveys are completed with CATI interviewers. Data collection began in April 2017 and will continue through early 2018.
