Lupus Therapeutics (LT) is an affiliate of the Lupus Research Alliance, the largest non-governmental, non-profit funder of lupus research worldwide. LT has engaged DIR to conduct a 3-year evaluation of Project CHANGE by LT (Community-based Health Action Network to Generate trial participation and Eliminate disparities). This effort focuses exclusively on African American women with lupus, the most underrepresented in clinical trials but the most disproportionately affected by the systemic autoimmune disease. The overarching goals of Project CHANGE by LT are to increase African American women’s awareness of and participation in clinical trial studies.
DIR is excited to be engaged as the external evaluator in this very important work. We will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive multi-site evaluation, including design, stakeholder engagement, data collection, analysis, sense-making, and the interpretation of findings. Our approach, from start to finish, will be informed by our commitment to serving as a culturally responsive thought partner.
